While returning to the house
he still couldn't believe it.

One hard swing with an axe
and suddenly it was all over.

How could it be so easy
killing your own brother.

He sat down on the rocking chair
and lit a cigarette.

Never before had that house
felt so quiet as it did now.

So dramatic! The sense of isolation it gives me is intense. Very evocative.

I don't find this as ominous as others seem to.

Good: lighting, mood, subject matter, composition.

Other: I find the canvas (tent?) on the left very distracting. Also, I would have moved the house a little bit to the left, out of the center of the image.

Thanks. The canvas on the left is a covered snow mobile.
You are right, the image is perhaps too static due to the center composition.
Well, this is just one version of the subject. I have perhaps four different images of this same house in my gallery.

Have a nice weekend.

I saw some of them, especially where the main emphasis seems to be the road leading to the house rather than the house itself. All of those versions were good, interesting and very different. Funny how moving a few feet can make such a big difference.
